The Volunteer Services Department coordinates and guides all services performed by volunteers (Auxiliary, Junior Partners and Medic-Aides). At Wooster Community Hospital, volunteers have the opportunity to match their skills and interests with meaningful assignments. As part of the health care team, volunteers broaden and diversity staff efforts to meet the hospital's goal of providing comprehensive health care.

  Volunteer Opportunities  
     
  Volunteers at Wooster Community Hospital play a valuable role in the delivery of quality patient care. Through their selfless efforts, Volunteers provide the important element of caring by giving their time and talent while helping others. Listed below are the current Volunteer opportunities at Wooster Community Hospital.  
       
  1 Baby Pictures - photograph newborn infants.    
       
  1 Emergency Room - greet patients and escort them to triage nurse, and facilitate communication between patients and families in the waiting area.  
     
  1 Escort Services - transport patients throughout the hospital.  
     
  1 Gift Shop - perform duties as sales clerk in the gift shop.

 
       
  1 Medical Alert - install and service emergency response systems in homes throughout Wayne County.  
       
  1 Messenger Service - provide regular interdepartmental pick-up and delivery service.  
       
  1 Sewing - sew hospital gowns, surgical sheets and wrappers, in addition to mending hospital gowns and linen.  
       
  1 Tour Guides - leads tours for groups interested in learning more about Wooster Community Hospital.

  arrow Men and women of all ages participate in the adult volunteer program. The Junior Partners program is open to teenagers from the age of 12 to 18, who are interested in health careers. The Medic-Aide program is designed to assist pre-med college students in gaining valuable experience through observation in different department of the hospital.

The Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary is an incorporated, not-for-profit organization with the aim of supporting the health care needs of the community, and supports the patients and staff of Wooster Community Hospital. All proceeds from Auxiliary projects help meet their commitment to Wooster Community Hospital and benefit the health and welfare of patients.
