Cognitive retraining is offered to patients of all ages to help them re-learn lost skills due to stroke or traumatic brain injury. For those school-aged individuals, speech pathologists work closely with the school's staff to help the student return to the school environment. For adult patients, the challenge is often returning to the workplace. Speech pathologists help each patient with reading, memory, management of time and money, organization and the safety and orientation skills necessary to regain independence in daily living tasks. |
