At Wooster Community Hospital, we have found that support groups provide an important source of emotional and psychological benefits for our patients, former patients their friends and families. The following groups meet at Wooster Community Hospital.

Food and Nutrition Support Group - Diabetes, obesity, and heart issues are all directly impacted by the foods we eat. All community members who are interested in sharing information related to food and nutrition and its impact on their health are invited to participate. After Breast Surgery Support Group for all women who have experienced breast surgery; contact Fran Gengo, RN, at (330) 263-8631.

Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group for men who have experienced prostate cancer and their spouses; Contact Fran Gengo, RN, at (330) 263-8631.

Ostomy Resource Information is for individuals who wish to engage in a discussion regarding any surgically created opening in the body for the discharge of body wastes; Contact Fran Gengo, RN, at (330) 263-8631.

OASIS - Autism Support Group for those who want to learn autism education, awareness, advocacy, research and assist families or has a family member living with autism; Contact Angel Thompson at (330) 601-0422.Website: www.oasisautism.org.

Alzheimer’s Association Support Group is a group that provides information for caregivers as well as current research developments; Contact Jen Miller at (330) 966-7343 or 1-800-272-3900.

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group is a support group for those newly diagnosed and living with Multiple Sclerosis. Meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month at Wooster Community Hospital; Contact Pixie at (330) 345-7374 or Ed and Tina at (330) 345-6647.

Parkinson’s Support Group is for both patients and caregivers to provide understanding, comfort, sharing and information; Contact Nancy Jordan at (330) 669-8568.

Step by Step Stroke Club is a support group for stroke survivors and their family to share ideas and help solve problems that occur after a stroke.  Group meets 2nd Friday of each month at Wooster Community Hospital from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Contact Sherry Antanasov at (330) 263-8417.

  Wooster Community Hospital Offers the following programs and services:  
         
      Individual exercise programming allows clients to take advantage of private health and wellness training as well as health screenings with degreed and certified staff.  
         
      The nutritional counseling program includes evaluations with a licensed dietician, and lifestyle classes designed for children and adults.  
         
      Massotherapy and infant communication classes are also offered in our specialized programming.
