Technologists utilize the Mammo Pad which helps to make the exam more comfortable for the patient. The mammo pad is made of a sponge-like material which provides cushion and warmth. Women with dense breasts are more easily imaged with digital mammography because of the ability to manipulate the images without additional exposures to the patient. Without the need of conventional film processing patients wait time is dramatically decreased. Also with digital mammography the radiation dosage to the patient is decreased by 1/4 per exposure compared to film screen mammography.

Digital mammography also utilizes computer aided detection (CAD) which is an additional reading tool used to interpret the digital films. It s like having a second set of eyes for the Radiologist. It helps the Radiologist by highlighting areas in the breast that may indicate a need for further review.

Services are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Who Is at Risk?

Sometimes when you want it the least, your body needs it the most.  When you feel tired, worn out and stressed out, the last thing you feel like doing is driving down to your health club for an intense workout.  The fact is, this is exactly what you should do.
