  1 The accredited Vascular Laboratory at Wooster Community Hospital provides blood flow evaluations on the veins and arteries of the legs, arms, and neck. Testing is performed using ultrasound and Doppler equipment that produces images of blood vessels as well as blood flow information. All examinations are performed by registered and experienced Vascular Technologists who work with highly trained Vascular Surgeons to provide accurate and diagnostic information that assists the referring doctor in treating patients with disorders of the circulatory system.

  arrow The following Vascular testing procedures are provided at Wooster Community Hospital:  
       
    arrow Cerebrovascular Testing: An ultrasound probe is placed on the surface of the neck to evaluate blood flow in the carotid arteries that provide circulation to the brain.
       
    arrow Arterial Testing: Arteries in the arms and legs are evaluated for reduced blood flow or blockage by the placement of a series of blood pressure cuffs at different levels and using sound wave (Doppler) evaluation of the arteries.
       
    arrow Venous Testing: The veins of the arms and legs are scanned by placing an ultrasound probe on the surface of the skin and recording pictures of the vein to look for blockages.
       
    arrow Renal (Kidney) Artery Testing:  Blood flow to the kidneys is evaluated by placing a small ultrasound transducer on the belly in several different locations.  This examination is performed after 4-6 hours of not eating or drinking.
