Ultrasound
Wooster Community Hospital and HealthPoint offer the service of Ultrasound, or Sonography. This technology is a valuable imaging tool that uses sound waves (and no radiation) to view images of the body. Ultrasound can evaluate many of the body's internal organs, as well as allow observation of unborn babies.
Some Ultrasound exams, such as those for blood vessels and the heart, can be captured in real time. This provides an actual recording of information for the physician to review. Other organs and unborn children are best evaluated with a sequence of still pictures taken during the examination.
