Joint Replacement Accreditation
The Joint Center at Wooster Community Hospital has again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for Knee and Hip Replacement by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care. The certification award recognizes Wooster Community Hospital’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.
Joint Commission certification is a rigorous process requiring a facility to meet numerous criteria and host an on-site survey. Achieving certification holds Wooster Community Hospital to a higher standard of care, and demonstrates a commitment to excellence in providing joint replacement care.
Wooster Community Hospital’s Joint Center is a collaborative effort between the hospital and the physicians of Wooster Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Once the physicians have identified patients who need a knee or hip replacement, those patients participate in an educational dinner before they have surgery. Patients begin their rehabilitation almost immediately following their surgery and continue after a brief stay in the hospital.
