Pulmonary Rehab program receives recertification

Wooster Community Hospital's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program was recently recertified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Successful certification requires a rigorous review of all aspects of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and compliance with the association's stringent standards of care in each area. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Wooster Community Hospital is the only AACVPR certified program in Wayne, Holmes, Medina, and Ashland counties. The Wooster Community Hospital program is led by Medical Directors Paul Nielsen, M.D. and Eric Smith, M.D. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is designed to help people with COPD, respiratory symptoms, and other pulmonary problems, with the goal of a faster recovery and improving patients’ quality of life. The program includes exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program staff are pictured to the right.
