Cancer Care
The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer has granted Wooster Community Hospital’s Cancer Program Accreditation with Commendation. Accreditation with Commendation is limited to those programs that are involved with prevention, early diagnosis, pretreatment evaluation, staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. One of the keys to success for a Commission on Cancer Approved Program is that the hospital must provide state-of-the-art care for cancer patients seen at the facility for primary, secondary, or tertiary care.
We at Wooster Community Hospital recognize that cancer is a complex group of diseases. The Commission on Cancer Program Standards promote consultation among surgeons, cancer specialists, and staff. This multidisciplinary cooperation results in improved care for you.
Our Standards
Every Commission on Cancer-Approved program must provide a host of basic services. These services are provided on-site at the facility, by referral, or are coordinated with other facilities or local agencies. Services include:
- Diagnostic
- Treatment
- Rehabilitation
- Support
