With the aide of computer processing images are created showing organs, vessels, and body tissues with great clarity. Wooster Community Hospital uses state-of-the-art technology with our new 64 slice scanner. In addition to the high speed and quality images produced by the scanner, new cardiac studies, vessel analysis, and 3-D reconstructions can also be performed. CT Services are available, Monday through Friday until 9:00 p.m., and are available for the Emergency Department and Inpatients 24 hours a day.

Wooster Community Hospital offers both high field open, as well as, traditional cylindrical style Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). MRI is a noninvasive, state-of-the-art technology utilizing a magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the human body without the use of ionizing radiation.

Ultrasound utilizes sound waves to evaluate many of the body's internal organs, as well as observation of unborn babies. Some exams, such as those for blood vessels and the heart, can be captured in real time. This provides an actual recording of information for the physician to review. Other organs, as well as unborn children, are best evaluated with a sequence of still pictures taken during the examination.
