  The night before your surgery  
  Do not eat or drink anything, including water and chewing gum, after midnight on the night before your surgery. In some cases, the Anesthesiologist or your doctor may tell you to take your regular medicine. If your are informed to take your medications, use only a small amount of water to swallow your pills. You may brush your teeth prior to coming to the hospital, but do not swallow any of the liquid.    
       
  Bathe thoroughly before coming to the hospital. Wear comfortable clothing so that after your surgery, clothing does not rub the area on which you were operated.    
       
  Do not shave surgery area. If hair removal needs done the hair will be removed preoperative by the nursing staff.
