At Wooster Community Hospital, we believe each birth is unique and special. As you prepare for the upcoming birth of your baby, we invite you to participate in our series of educational programs designed to enhance your childbirth experience. The classes are taught by an expert registered nurse who is certified in childbirth education. A variety of classes have been created to offer you flexibility and convenience.
Childbirth Preparation Class
We offer a 4-week childbirth preparation series. You and your support person will be introduced to all of the options available during labor and delivery. A breastfeeding class will be the 4th week in the series classes. Classes are Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 PM, or Saturdays 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Our sibling class is a one-session presentation for children 3 to 8 years old who are expecting a new brother or sister. We discuss the aspects of having a new baby in your home, tour the unit, and prepare the child for separation from mom. Classes will be held every other month on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00p.m. Dates for 2014 are as follows:

Women's Pavilion Tour/Pre-registration
Wooster Community Hospital offers a Women's Pavilion tour at 5p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month. During the tour expectant parents have the opportunity to see the Obstetric unit and pre-register at the hospital. Please contact our unit to register at 330-202-5548.

Wooster Community Hospital and HealthPoint offer the service of Ultrasound, or Sonography. This technology is a valuable imaging tool that uses sound waves (and no radiation) to view images of the body. Ultrasound can evaluate many of the body's internal organs, as well as allow observation of unborn babies.
