Patient Care & Privacy

Wooster Community Hospital continually strives to improve how we treat each individual who has entrusted us with their health care needs. We welcome your questions, comments and concerns.

As a patient or a family member, you have several options available to you when you have inquiries:

  • Provide information to the staff member providing your care
  • Contact the unit or department managers
  • Contact a Patient Advocate (call 330-263-8727)

Forms and Privacy Practices

The confidentiality of your health information is important to us. As your community hospital and health care provider of services, such as home health, we rely on you to give us complete and accurate information about your condition, symptoms and health history. We want you to know about our privacy practices that are intended to safeguard the proper use and disclosure of your health information

HIPPA

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) established new standards for the movement and uses of health care information. There are three types of standards created by HIPAA: privacy, security and administrative simplification (e.g., transaction standards).

Taken together, these regulations have a major impact on the day-to-day functioning of the nation's hospitals and affect virtually every department of every entity that provides or pays for health care.
