Pediatric Summer Programs

Q: Are you a parent of a child between the between the Ages of 3-14 years old that is challenged physically or socially?

A: If yes, then WCH has the perfect summer programs for you! Check out WCH HealthPoint’s 6 week all inclusive programs for any little person looking for some fun this summer break!

When: Groups will be running from June 11th to July 20th with a week break over the July 4th holiday.

Costs: Out of pocket costs are as follows:

Cash price: $185 for weekly or $250 for biweekly sessions.

Programs may be covered by insurance if your child is on physical, occupational or speech therapy or if your doctor feels they may be appropriate and would write a prescription.

Class options include social skills, pool based strength and coordination, fun and crazy art, yoga, sound it out and summer weight training/fitness. These classes are a fun and interactive method of improving physical and social well-being in your atypical children. They will be led by speech therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists who work with children daily. These classes are appropriate for children with mild parental concerns to children who receive these services during the school year and would like to continue throughout the summer.

TEAM Camp
- Therapeutic exercises and activities for language and movement for children ages 3-8 in a fun group setting. Activities for gross and fine motor skills are completed while using age appropriate language concepts. Speech, occupational, and physical therapists work as a team for your child!
Tuesdays for one hour at 10:00am or 11:00am

Social Skills Group - A program for children with expressive and/or pragmatic language disorders as well as those who have difficulty with self regulation who need support of a structured program.
Tuesdays or Thursdays at 4:00pm or 5:00pm, one time weekly

• Children ages 5-14 years old

• Teamwork, problem solving cooperation with peers and joining peers.

• Engaging peers in conversation

• Reading social cues and body language

• Stimulating and enhancing verbal and non-verbal social communicative skills

• Providing practice of learned skills through group games and interactions. Speech and occupational therapists provide immediate coaching feedback.

Tuesdays or Thursdays at 4:00pm or 5:00pm, one time weekly

Sound It Out - This group is for children going into first or second grade that struggle with pairing letters with sounds. Phonological awareness skills including blending sounds together to read words as well as identifying placement in a word for each sound. This group will have crafts and books, along with all sorts of fun and games!

Be Fit Summer Program - A program for children age 9-12 who struggle with movement deficits, weakness in the core effecting function, or hypotonia. This is a 6 week class that will introduce and progress strengthening options with fun bodyweight exercises and the use of machines in the gym. An emphasis will be placed on getting these children a good workout and teaching for some independence at the end of class when possible.

"Yoga for Everyone" for Children - A 6 week inclusive yoga class for children. All yoga poses and activities will be developmentally appropriate and can be modified to meet individual’s physical, sensory and special needs. Yoga fosters cooperation, compassion, and body awareness through movement.

Just Keep Swimmin' - A 6 week inclusive aqua therapy program working on sensory integration, gross motor and coordination skills, water safety, social awareness and interaction to promote increasing safety but while having fun in a pool environment.
Wednesdays 4:00pm-5:00pm (5 sessions, no July 4)

Fun and Crazy Creative Art Class - A 6 week program for ages 5 to 9 to be creative and have fun with art while increasing their fine motor coordination skills and visual motor skills with the use of a variety of different coloring utensils, scissors and a variety of different textured art items. This is a good group for children delayed with fine motor skills or visual motor skills.
