Wooster Community Hospital is excited to announce that we are providing our community with another service that allows patients to remain close to home.

We now have the ability to provide cardiac intervention procedures for the arteries of the heart. Every minute that a vessel is closed, more cardiac muscle can be lost.

Interventional cardiology is the ability to open up the blocked arteries and perform emergency angioplasty and stenting for people who experience a heart attack. “This broadens the scope of cardiac care,” said Dr. Newton. “It allows us to not only diagnose a coronary blockage, but now we can quickly treat the patient with a stent right here in Wooster instead of being transferred elsewhere.”
