At Wooster Community Hospital, we believe each birth is unique and special. As you prepare for the upcoming birth of your baby, we invite you to participate in our series of educational programs designed to enhance your childbirth experience. The classes are taught by an expert registered nurse who is certified in childbirth education. A variety of classes have been created to offer you flexibility and convenience.

Childbirth Preparation Class

We offer a 4-week childbirth preparation series.  You and your support person will be introduced to all of the options available during labor and delivery. Classes are Wednesdays 6:30-9:00 PM, or Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Class Dates and Times for 2017:

Four-Week Sessions
Wednesdays from 6:30-9:00p.m.

*A Breastfeeding Class will be the 4th week in the Wednesday series classes unless otherwise stated.

Single Sessions
Saturday 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

Sibling Classes

Our sibling class is a one-session presentation for children 3 to 8 years old who are expecting a new brother or sister. We discuss the aspects of having a new baby in your home, tour the unit, and prepare the child for separation from mom. Classes will be held every other month on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00p.m. If you would like to come for a tour of the unit, please meet at registration at 5:00pm on the day of the class.

Women's Pavilion Tour/Pre-registration

Wooster Community Hospital offers a Women’s Pavilion tour at 5 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month.  During the tour expectant parents have the opportunity to see the Obstetric unit and pre-register at the hospital. Please contact our unit to register at 330.202.5548.
