WCH Inpatient Withdrawal Treatment – New Vision™
Withdrawal treatment for adults with drug, alcohol, and related substance abuse issues
The number of people struggling with addiction has skyrocketed in recent years. At Wooster Community Hospital, we wanted to be part of a broader solution than just treating and resuscitating patients who overdose. So, we partnered with New Vision™, which aims to help people go through withdrawal safely.
WCH is proud to offer a voluntary inpatient withdrawal assistance program for adults with drug, alcohol, and related substance abuse issues.
The program accepts adults who are currently under the influence of, or are experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms from, drugs or alcohol – and who are otherwise appropriate for the service. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Inpatient withdrawal treatment consists of a medically supervised hospital stay that typically lasts between 3 and 5 days and includes:
- Prescreening and admission, requiring diagnosis of need by a licensed physician
- Assessment of the patient’s needs, including medical history, physical exam, and lab tests
- Medical stabilization and observation
- Discharge planning, including referral to an appropriate outpatient treatment facility and resources
Patients who are admitted to WCH’s inpatient withdrawal treatment program receive care from dedicated hospital personnel, including a medical director, attending physician, and nursing staff. This ensures that each patient receives the attention needed for safe medical stabilization in the hospital.
