Bloomington Physical Therapy
Bloomington Physical Therapy is a part of Bloomington Medical Services, an affiliate of Wooster Community Hospital Health System. As a top physical therapy services provider to Wooster and Millersburg residents, our team-oriented approach to physical therapy produces an effective and customized program to help you recover and prevent re-injury while achieving your optimal level of performance.
Because orthopedic surgery and post-surgical rehabilitation each have their own unique strengths in the healing process, there is no approach more efficient than the combination of both.
Our on-staff group of physical therapists, led by Paul M. McGhee, a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS), works closely with our orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists. As members of respected professional organizations, they remain committed to evidence-based care that helps patients return safely to the activities they enjoy.
A Trusted History in Orthopedic Care
Bloomington Physical Therapy, formerly Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, has been providing trusted orthopedic care to patients and referring physicians since 1977. Founded by Dr. Owen W. Logee, one of the area’s early orthopedic surgeons, the practice was built on a commitment to high-quality care delivered with compassion and personal attention.
That patient-first philosophy continues today as the practice has grown to include multiple locations and a team of experienced specialists. Patients receive coordinated care from a multidisciplinary team that includes orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, physical therapist assistants, and physician assistants—all working together to support recovery and long-term musculoskeletal health.
Our Physical Therapy Services
Our collaborative physical therapy approach creates personalized treatment plans designed to support recovery, reduce the risk of future injury, and help you return to your highest level of function.
Our physical therapy services include:
- Manual therapy: Hands-on techniques are used to reduce pain, improve joint mobility, and support natural healing.
- Mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine (McKenzie Method): A structured approach that helps identify the source of spinal pain and guide targeted exercises for long-term relief.
- Nonsurgical spinal decompression: Gentle traction is applied to the spine to help relieve pressure on discs and reduce back or neck pain.
- Iontophoresis: A mild electrical current delivers anti-inflammatory medication through the skin to help ease symptoms of tendonitis and bursitis.
- Electrical stimulation and ultrasound therapy: Therapeutic modalities are used to decrease pain, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue healing.
- Strength and cardiovascular training equipment: Specialized equipment supports safe, progressive exercise to rebuild strength, endurance, and functional movement.

Patient Testimonials
“I recently completed physical therapy for a rotator cuff injury at Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in Wooster. After an initial assessment, their policy is to assign the patient to the same therapist for every treatment session as much as possible. However, because I re-injured my shoulder in the middle of the treatment, I did get to know almost every member of the staff. I gradually realized that a great strength of the Wooster Orthopaedic program is that all of the therapist work as a team, ready to help any patient who has a question. From the initial assessment to the final treatment, I was very happy with the kind, knowledgeable care that I received from the entire staff at Wooster Orthopaedic.” - Linda B.
“I had a left knee replacement in Sept. 2022 and a right total knee replacement in Dec. 2022. The Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center provided excellent care in all departments. Dr. Widmer did a great job using robotic assisted surgery. His physician assistant Ray does a lot of the follow-ups, and he is very knowledgeable & caring! I elected to have my therapy at their facility. I could not have been happier with the therapist. They do their best to make sure you achieve the best outcomes possible. Thank you to all the tremendous staff at Wooster Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center! The culture, atmosphere, and teamwork by all physical therapists and physical therapist assistants is outstanding! ***** 5 Star Rating.” - Hugh M, Wooster, Ohio

Administrator & Director of Physical Therapy
Paul M. McGhee earned a bachelor’s degree in allied medicine/physical therapy and completed extensive advanced training to become a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OSC). This strong educational foundation supports a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to patient care.
Inspired by a personal experience as a high school athlete recovering from a knee injury, Paul discovered firsthand the impact physical therapy can have on healing and long-term function. That experience led to a career dedicated to helping patients of all ages recover from injury or surgery using proven therapeutic techniques.
Known for a patient-focused and educational approach, Paul takes time to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment recommendations, empowering patients with the knowledge and tools they need to support recovery both now and in the future.
Outside of the office, Paul enjoys a variety of outside activities throughout the year, including hunting in the fall, snowmobiling in the winter, dirt bike riding in the spring, and boating in the summer.
Although not born and raised in Wooster, OH, Paul considers this town home and enjoys supporting and contributing to this community.
