
Biography:
CPT John P. Ballentine, MD, is a dedicated U.S. Army Family Medicine Physician who brings both skill and compassion to every patient he serves. He earned his Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Western Kentucky University, with a major in biology and a minor in biophysics. He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Louisville and his Family Medicine Residency at Womack Army Medical Center.
Dr. Ballentine has cared for active-duty service members, retirees, dependents, and pediatric and ICU patients at Ft. Leonard Wood and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He has served as Interim Medical Director, supervised mid-level providers, and advised on Infection Control Committees. He holds ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP, and BLS certifications, and has earned the Army Achievement Medal twice, along with multiple challenge coins, including one from the commanding general.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Ballentine is an accomplished violinist and mandolinist, holds black belts in Jujutsu and Arnis, and remains deeply committed to community service.
