Visiting Guidelines

As of March 20, 2023, the following visitation guidelines will be implemented: 

Universal masking will stop in all areas of the hospital (except Skilled Nursing Unit/Transitional Care Unit).  While we are no longer requiring universal masking, we do continue to follow CDC guidance which states those patients who meet the following conditions should continue to wear a mask:

  1. Signs and symptoms of COVID
  2. Positive COVID test result
  3. Exposed to someone with COVID in last 10 days
  4. Living or working in an area experiencing a COVID outbreak
  5. Have otherwise been instructed by public health authorities to use source control

If you are a visitor, you should defer visitation until the above criteria no longer apply.
People experiencing fever, chills, headache, cough, sore throat, and/or muscle aches are contagious. We ask these visitors to contact the patient after they have been discharged home.

Members of the Clergy should obtain an identification badge from the Chaplain before visitation and follow the guidelines posted in the Chaplain's office.

Visiting Hours:

  1. PCU & Medical/Surgical: Visiting is encouraged from 9 AM-8 PM. After-hours visitation is discouraged in order to promote sleep and rest for our patients.
  2. Women's Pavilion: (Effective June 1, 2023)
    1. Support People:
      a. 3 support people ages 14 and older.
      b.  Same 3 people are designated for the entire hospital admission.
      c.  Support people ages 14-17 must always have a supervising adult present with them (the supervising adult is someone other than the patient and counts as 1 of the 3 support people).
      d.  If a qualified doula or community midwife is used, they may be an additional support person.
    2. Labor Visitation
      a. 3 designated support people are permitted at all times.
    3. Postpartum Visitation:
      a. Postpartum begins 3 hours after birth and lasts until the patient goes home.
      b. 3 designated support people are permitted at all times.
      c. Siblings of newborn may visit at any time with up to two caregivers.
      d. Additional family and friends may visit during open visitation hours:
      11 AM - 12 PM; and 6 PM - 7 PM
    4. Changes to Visitation Guidelines:
      a. Changes to visitation guidelines may be implemented at any time at the discretion of the hospital infection control department or at the discretion of the care team if deemed necessary.
  3. Inpatient Rehab: No children under the age of 10. No more than 4 visitors at one time. Visiting hours are as follows:
      1. Monday – Friday: 4 PM – 8 PM
      2. Saturday: 2 PM – 8 PM
      3. Sunday: 11 AM – 8 PM
  4. Transitional Care Unit: It is preferable that visitors visit between 10 AM and 8 PM; however the residents may have visitors 24 hours a day. Members of a Transitional Care Unit residents' immediate family, guardian, physician, friends, sponsors, spiritual advisor, or ombudsman may visit at any time unless the resident objects. The resident has the right to withdraw consent for visitation at any time.
  5. ICU:
      1. Patient visitation is limited due to patient condition and patient care needs
        1. ICU visiting hours are 9 AM-8 PM
        2. Visitors are limited to 2 per patient at a time
      2. Children under 14 years of age are not allowed to visit in ICU
      3. Flowers or live plants are not permitted in patient rooms
  6. Emergency Department (ED):  2 designated support persons per patient. Special circumstances will be considered.
  7. Outpatient Infusion: 2 support persons over the age of 14 per patient. Phone conference calls can be utilized for those who are not able to attend.
  8. Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): parents or guardian may stay with child (17 years old and younger) in PACU
  9. Day of Surgery: Two support persons may visit in the patient's room or ambulatory care at any time prior to surgery
  10. Hospice patients may have visitors at any time.
  11. We encourage visitors to have discretion in bringing small children into the hospital due to possible exposure of the child or patient to infectious diseases and/or the hospital milieu.
  12. Visitors and patients are encouraged to discuss special visiting needs, such as staying at hospital overnight, with the patient's nurse.

  • Upon entry, you will be prompted to use hand sanitizer.
  • If visitors do not follow infection control guidelines, caregivers can ask them to leave the facility and restrict their visitation privileges. For support, call the Patient Advocate line at (330) 263-8727.
