
Biography:
Bilal Malik, MD, is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at Bloomington Pulmonary Medicine specializing in the diagnosis and management of complex pulmonary disease and critical illness, with particular interest in advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy.
Dr. Malik’s medical training has spanned three continents. He began his academic journey at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, earning an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology, Psychology, Neuroscience & Behavior, and graduating summa cum laude. He went on to earn his medical degree from St. George’s University of London in the United Kingdom, complete his residency in Internal Medicine in Michigan, and ultimately complete a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Loma Linda University in California. Across this trajectory, he has cared for patients in clinical settings throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, cultivating a broad and deeply patient-centered approach to pulmonary and critical care medicine.
As a contributor to medical research and education, Dr. Malik is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at national and international medical conferences throughout his training.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Malik is an accomplished technical scuba diver, certified in shipwreck exploration, deep diving, and sidemount diving. When not underwater, he treasures time spent with his family and delights in exploring new cultures and cuisines wherever his travels take him.
