What Makes Wooster Cancer Care Unique?
Patients at Wooster Cancer Care will receive the following care – ALL under one roof:
- Nutrition care
- OB/GYN services
- Oncology patient navigator to guide patients through the treatment process
- Oncology treatment
- Radiation therapy
- Social workers
- Women’s health services
In addition, Wooster Cancer Care strives to bring patients the most accurate, safe, and efficient approaches to cancer treatment, including:
Receiving radiation treatment while lying on the stomach has been shown to direct radiation away from the heart and lungs, helping to protect those vital organs while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
At Wooster Cancer Care, we use a special positioning board (designed at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center) for patients undergoing prone radiation therapy.
Patients enjoy a seamless health care experience at Wooster Cancer Care. We respect your time and don’t want you to waste it coordinating with multiple providers, which can often be confusing and frustrating.
We make the process easy for you by:
- Meeting with you and your family to discuss any other needs you may have
- Alerting the appropriate Wooster Cancer Care team members of your needs
- Setting up a same-day tour of the Wooster Cancer Care department, allowing you to meet providers and staff and make the first available appointments
- Providing guidance and assistance throughout the treatment process
