1. COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CARE

All-inclusive cancer care is one of the core pillars of WCH, and our oncology center – which launched in December – offers a host of services to assist those who have been diagnosed with this relentless disease. In addition to housing oncologists and diagnostic services on-site, our hospital’s physicians and staff are able to collaborate internally – making our team truly efficient in treating our cancer patients.

For cancer patients and their family members, knowing where to start with treatments can be confusing, anxiety-inducing, and all-around frustrating. WCH is paving the way for more intelligent care by offering patients access to “Oncology Patient Navigators” – who act as sage guides on the journey to wellness.

In addition to helping you overcome health care system barriers, our Navigators can help you with insurance questions and provide access to the information you need. Our entire facility serves Medicare and Medicaid patients, and we even accept cash payments.

2. INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY AT THE CARDIOVASCULAR INSTITUTE

Another important focus for WCH is cardiovascular health. Our interventional cardiology center, which has two intensive cardiologists and one interventional cardiologist on staff, has received the Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology.

In addition to offering 24/7 care, our facility boasts a renovated catheterization laboratory, or “cath lab” – the examination room where we utilize technologically advanced, diagnostic imaging equipment to get a window into the arteries and structures of the heart. In addition to our state-of-the-art diagnostics, the facility offers comprehensive care for all of your cardiovascular health needs.

Our care doesn’t stop at the door, either. WCH’s cardiac rehabilitation center provides all the necessary tools required to educate yourself on lifestyle changes. Modifications such as monitoring blood and glucose levels, getting regular exercise, and enjoying a heart-healthy diet can all help to prevent future heart attacks. 

3. WOMEN’S SPECIALTY CENTER 

WCH’s women’s center is replete with 3-D mammography services, ultrasound, and a women’s pavilion for obstetrics. The center is a one-stop shop for female health concerns.

An inviting and warm refuge for women, the specialty center features birthing classes, sibling classes, and family planning – as well as a delivery center with private rooms. Midwives, labor nurses, and breastfeeding consultants are here to provide helpful tutoring and advice during this transitional time in a woman’s life. Mothers of preemies and children affected by health conditions will appreciate the 24-hour care and on-call pediatricians available to them.

4. ORTHOPEDIC CARE

With about 50 percent of Americans suffering from a musculoskeletal malady of some kind, the need for reliable and expert orthopedic care has never been more important. Wooster Community Hospital has a full-service orthopedic practice that is affiliated with The Ohio State University, and offers joint replacement and revision surgeries as well as other services.
